Everton’s 10-Point Deduction Reduced Following Appeal

Everton’s 10-point deduction has been reduced to six following an appeal.

The Toffees confirmed the deduction in a statement released on Monday.

It comes after the club breached profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).

An independent commission found they had exceeded permitted losses under the league’s PSR by £19.5m over an assessment period ending with the 2021-22 season.

An independent appeal board has now cut that by four points, which moves the club on to 25 points in the table and up to 15th place.

The club, however, face a second PSR complaint for breaching rules over the assessment period running to the end of last season

“Everton can confirm an Appeal Board has concluded that the points deduction imposed by an independent Premier League Commission in November be reduced from 10 points to six points, with immediate effect,” the club said.
