Premier League side Everton have signed French international defender Lucas Digne from Barcelona.

The 25-year-old joins the Marco Silva revolution at the Merseyside club from La Liga champions Barcelona after penning a five-year contract in a £18m deal.

He becomes Everton’s second signing of the summer after Brazilian forward Richarlison joined from fellow Premier League outfit Watford.

The left-back joined Barcelona from Paris Saint Germain (PSG) after helping the French giants to win the Ligue 1 title.

He went on to make 46 appearances at the Nou Camp and also won the Spanish La Liga title last season.

On his new career move, the 21-cap French international told the club’s website that: “Everton is a big club with a great history. I want to play games, win games and excite the fans with the quality of our football.”

“I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.

“I am not afraid, I am excited. For me, it is a new challenge to discover a country, a league, people and a great club such as Everton. It is fabulous.” Lucas Digne concluded.
