Everton Misfit Klaassen Joins Werder Bremen

Dutch international midfielder Davy Klaassen has completed his move from Premier League outfit Everton to Werder Bremen.

The 25-year-old joins the German Bundesliga club in a deal reportedly worth €15m (£12m).

He moved to Merseyside from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam last summer in a £23.6m deal but found first team opportunities hard to come by prompting his exit from the club after just one season.

Davy Klaassen made just 16 appearances for Everton last season.

“It was important to me to know exactly where the journey was going on the pitch and the ambitions of the club have convinced me.” The former Ajax skipper told Werder Bremen’s website.

“After my exchange with [coach] Florian Kohfeldt, I have a very good feeling that I can make an important contribution here with my abilities.

“The coach wants to play attractive, attacking football. I am really looking forward to that.” He concluded.
