Europa League: Hart Keeps Clean Sheet On Debut As Burnley Hold Basaksehir

New Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart was in inspired form as he helped the Lancashire club record a goalless draw at Turkish Super League outfit Istanbul Basaksehir in the Europa League third qualifying round first leg.

Hart, 31, who signed a two-year contract in a £3.5m deal from Manchester City earlier this week, was making his debut for the club.

The 75-cap England international made several saves to deny their hosts Istanbul Basaksehir, who were clearly the better side but had nothing to show for their efforts largely due to the form of the former West Ham United and Torino shot stopper.

Burnley were toothless in attack and didn’t produce any shot on target on Thursday.

Manager Sean Dyche and his players will need to do better in their second clash at Turf Moor on Thursday in the bid to secure a playoff spot.
