Euro 2020: Denmark Thrash Wales To Book Quarterfinals Spot

Denmark moved past Wales with consummate ease to become the first team into the quarterfinals of Euro 2020.

The Danes were impressive from the start and were full value for their 4-0 victory over 10-man Wales at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam.

Kasper Dolberg opened scoring in the 27th minute and doubled his side’s lead three minutes after the break.

Joakim Maehle made it 3-0 in the 88th-minute before Wales were reduced to 10-men for the second game running when Harry Wilson was shown a straight red in the first minute of added time.

There was still enough time for Denmark to make their superiority count as Martin Braithwaite found space in the box to finish beautifully past Danny Ward.

The effort was initially ruled out for a tight offside but was later given after a VAR review to add a shine to the scoreline as Denmark scored four goals at the tournament for the second straight game.
