Euro 2020: Denmark Into Semi-Finals After Beating Czech Republic

Denmark continued their fairytale Euro 2020 campaign with a hard-fought win over the Czech Republic in Baku to make the semi-finals.

The Danes have been magnificent in the tournament since the trauma of their opening game, in which midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest.

Denmark enjoyed a dream start as Thomas Delaney them ahead from a free header in the eighth minute and they made it 2-0 just before half-time, with Kasper Dolberg volleying in a superb cross from Joakim Maehle to add to the two goals he scored against Wales.

The Czechs responded brilliantly after the break with Patrik Schick grabbing his fifth goal of the tournament, taking him level with Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot.

But Denmark were able hold the fort to ensure the victory and a semi-final at Wembley on Wednesday.

They will play the winner of England vs Ukraine who play each other in Rome on Saturday evening.
