Etebo Heartbreak As Getafe Lose At Granada

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo returned to action for the first time in three months as Getafe took on Granada at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármene stadium.

Despite David Timor giving Getafe a 20th-minute lead, Granada stunned the visitors by fighting back to win with Carlos Fernandes prominent for the home side.

Granada were level after pressure from Fernandes forced Djene to put the ball into his net after 70 minutes and nine minutes later Fernandez followed up his initial shot with a fierce strike to put the home side ahead.

The loss is a massive blow to Getafe’s Champions League aspirations as they stay in fifth place, level on points with fourth-placed Real Sociedad who have a game in hand.

Granada, meanwhile, are up to 8th with 41 points, five behind Getafe.
