Enyimba Beat 10-Man Plateau To Move Into NPFL Top 5 As Champions Fail In Top Spot Bid

Enyimba have moved into the top five of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) after they saw off 10-man Plateau United 1-0 at home in a Matchday 8 clash.

Diminutive winger Stanley Dimgba was the hero for the hosts as he scored an 11th minute penalty to give his side the maximum points after Elijah Ogene was penalised for handball in the box.

The victory was enough to take Paul Aigbogun’s men six places from 11th to 5th spot with 13 points from the 8 league games played while defending champions Plateau United (15 points) stay in second place and also fail in the bid to usurp current leaders Akwa United into top spot.
