El Clasico Buildup For Fans

Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to write another page in the history of their rivalry on Sunday, October 28, with the first bill of LaLiga’s El Grande Clasico for the 2018/2019 season. The Catalonians play hosts to Real Madrid at the Camp Nou in a fixture that is a football world head turner.

Around the world, many LaLiga fans will have the opportunity to see the game live at a unique event that will feature in major cities ranging from Jakarta to Johannesburg, Miami to Shanghai and Sydney to Kolkata. The fans will also have El Clasico legends who will serve as representatives for LaLiga at different venues share the excitement with them.

LaLiga recently announced a partnership with Facebook in India as a broadcast partner which will give about 25,000 fans in Kolkata the opportunity to watch the game at the East Bengal Ground. Former England international Steven McManaman who won two LaLiga titles with Real Madrid will be in attendance.

 7,000 fans will also enjoy the El Clasico in the cities of Jakarta and Surabaya in the presence of Los Blancos legends Fernando Morientes and Ivan Campo. Meanwhile, fans in Shanghai will be screening at the Huangpu Sports Park in the presence of LaLiga Ambassadors Patrick Kluivert and Fernando Sanz.

The Bayfront Park in downtown Miami will host about 5,000 fans who will witness the El Clasico live at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre made possible by LaLiga and beIN SPORTS. It will surely be a festival for those in attendance as it was in 2017 when the International Champions Cup came into town, with the presence of Brazil and Barcelona legend Rivaldo.

In Mexico City, the F1 Fanzone Mexico at Campo Marte will host fans between Friday and Sunday for pre-El Clasico jitters, while Colombian icon Carlos Valderrama will be with fans at Bogota’s District Sports Bar for the screening which is in partnership with a local TV station DirectTV.

The largest El Clasico event in Asia will see over 35,000 Real Madrid and Barcelona fans witness the match in Tashkent at the Milliy Stadium brought by LaLiga and UZReport, a local broadcaster. Luis Garcia a former Spain and Barcelona forward and LaLiga Ambassador will enjoy the game with the fans at the venue.

Other LaLiga sponsored events will be featured across other parts of the world on that day in cities including Sydney, Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg, Bangkok and Singapore and not leaving out Portugal, Belgium, and Poland in partnership with ELEVEN SPORTS.

 Fans of both sides have been encouraged to extend their support to the social media space using the #ElClasico hashtag to create a global conversation that revolves around the match along with the live screenings.
