Egypt Set Date For Football Return

Clubs in Egypt can start training in July with the country aiming to resume sporting activities in August.

Egyptian Minister of Sports Ashraf Sobhy announced the measures on Wednesday as part of a wider plan to open up the country which has been shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Egyptian Premier League has been on break since the middle of March as a result of the pandemic.

Perennial champions Al Ahly have 49 points after 17 games and lead the standings by sixteen points having played a game less than closest rivals Arab Contractors and Pyramids FC.

Ahly’s fierce rivals Zamalek are fourth with two games in hand on the leaders.
