Audio: Eguma not new to league ultimatum – Ovoke

Bernard Ovoke

Rivers United hotshot Bernard Ovoke insists that coaches getting ultimatum in the league is not a new thing.

Technical Adviser Stanley Eguma had earlier been issued a three-match ultimatum to turn the fortunes of Rivers United around by the management of the club but Ovoke says the coach sees it as no big deal.

“It’s not a new in Nigeria League. (Eguma) just told us that there’s no pressure on him. So, we guys should just put everything behind and go on and do (our job).”

Ovoke was also delighted to have scored one of the goals as the Port-Harcourt based side won their first away game of the campaign in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Remo Stars.

“I feel excited and happy. My expectations is for us to grab a title during the Aiteo Cup.

“We are preparing very hard for it because we have a game on Wednesday. We coming all out.

“The spirit is okay, (as we have) to take every game the way it comes.

He added: “Most of the games, fatigue (issues). When we came back from the Continental, we had a lot of stress going to play different games.”

Rivers United face J. Atete in the Aiteo Cup round of 64 on Wednesday.
