Preparations have begun for the 20th National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020 as the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung inaugurated the Main Organising Committee at the National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday. 

The Committee headed by Mr Adeshola Olusade, Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports has His Excellency, Mr Phillip Shuaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo state, as Vice Chairman. 

Members of the committee include; Chairman, Edo state Sports Commission (member), President, Nigeria Olympic Committee (member), President, Paralympic Committee Nigeria, Director Grassroots Sports Development, Director, FEderations and Elite Athletes Department, Director Facility and Stadium Management, etc. 

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Chairman of the committee, Mr Adeshola Olusade appreciated the Minister of Sports for the opportunity and expressed optimism that though the task is enormous, it was equally not insurmountable. 

The Edo 2020 National Sports Festival is scheduled to take place from March 22 to April 1, 2020 in  Benin city, Edo state.
