The opening ceremony for the 2020 National Sports Festival will hold on 7 April at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, six days after the opening of the Games Village and athletes arrival, the competition’s schedule of events show.
The 20th NSF originally scheduled for 2020 was moved by a year due to the coronavirus outbreak but will retain its Edo 2020 moniker.
Competition proper will kick off on 4 April with badminton, boxing, handball, karate, swimming and a host of other sports.
Athletics events will commence on 8 April, one day before the table tennis competition serves off and three days after the football competition commences.
The closing ceremony will hold on 14 April and the Games Village will be closed the next day with athletes and officials expected to depart on the same day.
