Super Eagles star Bright Osayi-Samuel was on from start to finish as Fenerbahçe defeated Royale Union Saint-Gilloise 3-0 in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

The Nigerian international, who was making his sixth appearance in the competition, is yet to register his name on the scoresheet.

The Turkish club took the lead in the 20th minute through Michy Batshuayi’s brilliant goal.

The visitor extended their lead in the 84th minute through Jayden Oosterwolde before Dusan Tadic’s took the game beyond the reach of Union Saint-Gilloise when he scored in the 94th minute, to earn Fenerbahçe a precious three points away from home.

Saint-Gilloise will have a mountain to climb when they face Fenerbahçe in the second leg.
