Eagles To Play Five High Profile Friendlies Before World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play five high profile international friendlies ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

This was revealed during a small signing ceremony at the Eko Hotel and Suites to unveil the new partnership between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Coca-Cola.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will travel to Poland on March to take on the European nation before taking on Serbia in London on March 27.

At the end of the regular European season, the Eagles will battle African foes DR Congo in Nigeria on May 25 before taking on the Three Lions of England at the Wembley Stadium in England on June 2.

Nigeria will then face the Czech Republic in Austria on June 6, which is about a fortnight before their opening World Cup game against Croatia.

They will also face Iceland and old nemesis Argentina in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Apart from the aforementioned friendly matches, the NFF also revealed that the Super Eagles might face fellow World Cup participants Morocco and Chile before the tournament proper.
