Eagles Loss Fallout: Modric Fires Warning Shots At Argentina Ahead Of Group D Clash

Real Madrid star Luka Modric has sent warning signals to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Argentina ahead of his side’s Group D meeting with the former winners.

Group leaders Croatia and Argentina meet on Thursday in their second match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Speaking after he led his side to a 2-0 win over Nigeria in their first group match, Modric said: “They [Argentina] have huge amounts of quality, but this win will boost our confidence and we will up our game.”

“We’ll play a good game against Argentina. I hope we will take some points but it’s going to be tough.

“They have to play for a win because of [Saturday’s] score, which was unexpected for them, but it’s an important game for us and we will try to play our best.” Modric, who was on target from the spot against Nigeria and was named Man of the Match (MotM) concluded.
