Eagles Extend Winless Run To Four Games With Czech Republic Defeat

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have extended their winless run to four games after they were beaten 1-0 by Czech Republic in an international friendly clash played at the Schwechat Stadium in Rannersdorf, Austria.

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas scored the only goal of the game on 25 minutes from close range to condemn Gernot Rohr’s team to a second successive defeat after Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Three Lions of England.

The game was the final friendly game ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Super Eagles are winless since a 1-0 win over hosts Poland in March.

Attention will now shift to the team’s Group D opening game against Croatia on June 16.

Starting XI vs. Czech Republic: Francis Uzoho; Shehu Abdullahi, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Brian Idowu; John Ogu, Wilfred Ndidi, John Mikel Obi; Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo
