Eagles Drop One Spot In Latest FIFA Ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one spot in the latest FIFA ranking released earlier on Thursday.

Nigeria drop from 51st to 52nd while also dropping 45 points (651 points in January to 606 points) as released on the official website of international football’s governing body.

Nigeria, who reached the African Nations Championship (CHAN) final before losing 4-0 to Morocco, however, remain in seventh spot amongst African countries.

Tunisia are the top ranked nation in Africa ahead of Senegal, DR Congo and CHAN champions Morocco.

Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Algeria make up the top 10.

Nigeria’s Russia 2018 World Cup opponents Argentina, Croatia and Iceland are much higher according to the newly released FIFA Ranking.

Two-time world champions Argentina and Croatia remain in 4th and 15th respectively while Iceland move two places up from 20th to 18th spot.
