Eagles AFCON Opponents In Another COSAFA Cup Draw

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s next opponents in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation qualifiers, Seychelles, on Tuesday recorded another 1-1 draw at the ongoing 2018 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup in South Africa.

Seychelles had earlier played out a 1-1 draw against Comoros in their first match at the tournament before recording the same scoreline against Madagascar in their second game.

Eric Mellie rescued a point for Seychelles after Joatombo Bourahim had given Madagascar the lead on 24 minutes meaning that they must now beat Mozambique in their last COSAFA Cup Group A game on Thursday to secure a quarter-final berth.

Gernot Rohr’s side will be travel to face Seychelles in Group E on Matchday 2 of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers in September 2018 in the bid to improve on their present position (third).

They lost 2-0 to South Africa in their opening game while Seychelles are bottom following their 5-1 loss away to Libya on Matchday 1.
