Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp missed his team’s training on Wednesday after he was taken to the hospital on the account of illness.

The new development was confirmed by the club via a statement which said: “There are currently no plans for Jurgen to remain in hospital beyond his appointment and he will therefore return home this [Wednesday] evening.”

“However, he may require further check-ups in the coming days.” the statement further read.

Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield on Saturday with the club currently occupying 5th spot on the league table with 19 points from 11 games.
