Dortmund Extend Bundesliga Lead With Augsburg Win

League leaders Borussia Dortmund has extended their lead at the top of the table following their 2-1 win at Augsburg in a week 7 clash in the German Bundesliga.

Ukraine international winger Andriy Yarmolenko gave Dortmund the lead as early as the 4th minute but the home side were level within seven minutes through winger Caiuby. Japanese forward Shinji Kagawa gave his side a second lead and they could have extended it through Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang who failed to convert a second half penalty.

The win takes Peter Bosz’ side five points clear of second-placed TSG Hoffenheim and six points ahead of champions Bayern Munich after recording 19 points from 7 games. Hoffenheim will play away to Freiburg on Sunday while Bayern are guests of Hertha Berlin in a tough looking fixture.
