Djokovic To Face Marin Cilic In Final At Queens

Novak Djokovic will play top seed Marin Cilic of Croatia in the final of the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen’s club after overcoming Jeremy Chardy in straight sets.

The former world number one beat his French opponent 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 in the semi-final of the Wimbledon warm-up event.

Marin Cilic defeated Nick Kyrgios of Australia 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-4) to book his pace in the final.

Speaking after his victory, Djokovic, who will be featuring in his first final for one year, said: “It was very pleasing to go through to the final.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve played for a title so it’s a special moment considering what I have been through.

“It’s a great occasion. I would lie if I say I wasn’t ambitious coming into the tournament so I am hoping I can go all the way.” He concluded.

The 12-time Grand Slam title winner has an impressive record of 14 victories and one defeat against Cilic ahead of their final clash at the Queen’s club.
