Dimitrov Marks ATP Finals Debut With Win

 

Sixth seed Gregory Dimitrov got his ATP Finals debut in London off to a winning start following his victory over Dominic Thiem of Austria.

The Bulgarian star saw off fourth seed Thiem 6-3 5-7 7-5 in what was the opening match of the Pete Sampras Group.

While speaking after the win over his fourth seeded opponent, Dimitrov admitted that he was very nervous. He said: “I’m not going to lie – I was pretty nervous, my first match out here.”

“I’m just very grateful to win that match, especially in that manner. It’s never easy to come out here and play for the first time.” he added.
