Denmark, Ireland World Cup Playoff Clash In The Balance After Stalemate

The 2018 FIFA World Cup playoff clash between Denmark and Republic of Ireland is in the balance after both sides played out an uninspiring goalless draw in the first leg.

Republic of Ireland would be slight favourites ahead of the second leg in Dublin on Tuesday due to home advantage though Martin O’Neil and his players would need to improve their output in front of their fans.

For Denmark, they didn’t secure any lead going into the second leg but any form of score draw should be enough to send them through to next year’s World Cup in Russia.

Scandinavian nation Denmark qualified for the playoffs after they finished in second place behind Group E winners Poland while the Republic of Ireland also booked their spot with a second place finish behind Serbia in Group D of the qualifiers.
