Dauda Attributes Enyimba’s Draw With Insurance To Lack of Chances (AUDIO)

Enyimba goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says the inability of the People’s Elephant to create ‘a lot of chances’ was their undoing as they were held to a goalless draw at home by visiting Bendel Insurance on Sunday.

Knowingly that a win against Insurance would take them to the top of Group A in the abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, the 7-time champions came all out, but met a resolute defence from the visitors who ensured the spoils were shared.

“I will give credit to Insurance team,” the Ghana International said. “I think they came with tactics and it worked well for them.

“They are young boys, they play well, and they ran. My colleagues also did well. We did very well but it is very unfortunate we couldn’t score.

“I will say we couldn’t create a lot of chances, that’s what I saw in the game. We couldn’t create a lot of chances. They had two clear chances to score than we created.

“We are unlucky not to beat Insurance. We will forget about it and we will move forward.”

The draw with Insurance ensured Enyimba dropped to 3rd spot on the log with 21 points from 14 matches, same points with second-placed Rangers who have a better goals difference and four outstanding games.
