Cristiano Ronaldo Out Of El Clasico

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the International Champions Cup (ICC) El Clasico match in Miami today, due to personal commitments.

According to Relevent Sports chairman (The company in charge of the ICC), Charlie Stillitano, who explained the absence to Miami Herald: “Unfortunately, Ronaldo’s personal commitments precluded him from being here,

“He really wanted to be here. This is not a diva situation. He was hoping that he could make it. He waited until today to let us know, but it just didn’t work out.

The Portuguese superstar will appear in a Spanish court on Monday, 31st July 2017, to testify in a hearing on his $17m tax evasion charges.

Stillitano continues: “I’m extremely disappointed, but we still have the two best teams and the top stars minus one.”

At the end of last season, Ronaldo reportedly indicated he wants to leave Real Madrid due to tax prosecutions in Spain, but Real’s President, Florentino Perez has since debunked the exit speculations.
