Coventry Loss Fallout: Stoke City Sack Manager Mark Hughes

Stoke City have sacked manager Mark Hughes following a wretched run of poor result.

His final game in charge proved to be the FA Cup third round defeat (2-1) to lower league opposition Coventry City.

Former Manchester City and Fulham boss Mark Hughes was appointed in 2013 before leading the team to their best ever finish in the Premier League (9th position).

The current season (2017/18) has not gone as planned for the former Manchester United and Chelsea striker with the team languishing in the bottom three with 20 points from the first 22 league games of the season.

The poor league form played a major role in Hughes’ dismissal but the Coventry City loss proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
