Copa Del Rey Recap: Sevilla Beat Giantkillers Leganes To Book Final Spot

Sevilla have qualified for the Spanish Copa Del Rey final after they defeated giantkillers Leganes 3-1 on aggregate.

The UEFA Europa League (UEL) campaigners were in the driving seat after a 1-1 draw in the away leg at Leganes and they made that advantage count with a 2-0 win over their opponents in their second leg clash on Wednesday.

Joaquin Correa gave Sevilla an early lead in the 6th minute before Franco Vazquez wrapped up the victory with a minute left on the clock to help Vicenzo Montella’s side reach the Spanish Copa Del Rey final.

They will meet the winner of the other semifinal tie between Valencia and Barcelona with the former leading 1-0 from the 1st leg at home (Nou Camp). The 2nd leg is scheduled for the Mestalla on Thursday night.

For Leganes, Sevilla hurdle proved to be a step too far after the highs of knocking out almighty Real Madrid in the last round.
