City Return To Winning Ways To Go Fifteen Points Clear

Leaders Manchester City returned to winning ways at the first time of asking following their 3-1 win over Watford at the Etihad Stadium to move 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester City players and officials knew their was no room for slip ups after Sunday’s goalless draw at Crystal Palace and that was what exactly happened against off-form Watford.

The Citizens raced into a two-goal lead through in-form Raheem Sterling and a Christian Kabasele own goal in the first thirteen minutes but the away side weathered further storm until halftime.

Sterling’s opener after 38 seconds was the fastest goal in the Premier League this season.

Argentine forward Sergio Aguero added a third goal in the second half before Watford scored what proved to be a consolation goal courtesy Andre Gray with nine minutes remaining.

In the pick of the other games played on Tuesday night, Tottenham Hotspur have leapfrogged North London rivals Arsenal into fifth place after goals from Fernando Llorente and Dele Alli handed them a 2-0 win at bottom club Swansea City.
