Chelsea Reach Deal To Sign Ajax Winger Hakim Ziyech

Chelsea have reportedly agreed terms with Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech with the player set to join the Blues this summer in a £38m deal.

English media reported on Wednesday that both clubs were in advanced talks over the transfer with the only sticking point understood to be an agreement between Chelsea and Ziyech over personal terms.

Noted transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed via his Twitter page that the transfer has now been sealed after both sides reached an agreement on personal terms.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had targetted the 26-year-old in the January transfer market.

But the Dutch club were unwilling to sell in the transfer window as they chase the Eredevisie title.

The signing of the Morocco international would be the first by Lampard following Chelsea’s transfer window ban.

His arrival is expected to offset the potential departures of Pedro Rodriguez and Willian both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.

Ziyech contributed to a memorable Ajax goal against Chelsea in the 4-4 draw in their Champions League group game in November.

The winger’s free-kick from near the corner flag, curled over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s head and hit the far post before rebounding in off the Chelsea goalkeeper for an own goal.
