CHAN 2018: CAF To Inspect Kenya’s Readiness To Host Africa, Set Visit Date

Confederation of African Football (CAF), have set visitation date for the inspection of Kenya’s readiness to host the 2018 Championship for African Nations (CHAN).

The Caf inspecting delegation will arrive Kenya for a five-day visit of facilities on 7th September and depart the East African country on 12th September 2017, ahead of the January-February 2018 CHAN.

Reports coming out of Kenya suggest that construction works on the five hosting grounds are yet to begin barely 5 months before the continental tournament, due to national election campaigns and bureaucratic challenges.

A Caf delegation, led by 2nd Vice-President, Omari Selemani, visited Kenya last June for an inspection tour of hosting venues, expressing optimism that Kenya will do the needful in time for the 2018 CHAN competition.

The 2018 CHAN would take place in Kenya From January 11 to February 2.
