Controversial South African athlete Caster Semanya has dropped a big bombshell by saying that her target is to race till the age of 40.
The 800m specialist also talked about featuring more in the shorter 400m event.
Semanya, 27, was speaking after she won the 400m race at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba, Delta State.
She broke an 18-year old national record with a time of 49.66s to win gold for South Africa ahead of Bostwana’s Christine Botlogetwe, who won the silver medal in 51.19s, and Yinka Ajayi who clinched bronze for Nigeria in 51.34s.
In her words, she said: “My goal is to race till 40, so probably three more Olympics to come.”
