Both sides scored their first two spot kicks but Arsenal’s third by Mohamed Elneny was saved by Adrian after Takumi Minamino put Liverpool 3-2 up.

The Reds’ advantage was erased immediately after as Divock Origi’s effort was saved by Leno while Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored to make it 3-3.

And the youngster did with a bit of good fortune with Adrian making contact with the ball but not enough to stop it from rolling in and sending the Gunners through.
