“We Came Very Close”, How Ahmed Musa Transfer Deadline Day Move Broke Down

Hull City manager, Leonid Slutsky claims the Tigers were “very close” to signing Leicester City’s winger Ahmed Musa on transfer deadline day.

The 24-year-old Nigerian joined the Foxes’ from CSKA Moscow in 2016 but have failed to nail down a starting shirt at the King Power Stadium.

“We came very close to Musa,” Slutsky told a press conference ahead of Hull’s Championship game against Derby County this Friday.

“But not each decision depends on me or the club. I think maybe he wants to prove himself at Leicester and he needs one more attempt.”

“The final decision was at midday on deadline day and we didn’t have a chance to change Musa for another option.” he added.
