Plateau United face a daunting task to qualify for the first round of the CAF Champions League after they lost 1-0 to visiting Tanzanian side Simba SC in the preliminary round first leg in Jos on Sunday.

John Bocco scored what proved to be the winner in the 63rd minute to hand Simba the advantage ahead of next week’s return leg.

Controversy over broadcast arrangements had dominated the build up with the visitors claiming Plateau United had denied them permission to broadcast the game to their fans.

In any event, the absence of TV cameras appeared not to hamper Simba as they claimed an excellent win to assume control of the tie.
