CAFCL: Al Hilal Coach Vows To Finish Enyimba In Sudan (AUDIO)

After guiding his side to an impressive goalless draw in Aba against Enyimba, coach of Sudanese outfit Al Hilal, Salah Mohamed Adam has promised to ‘finish the work in our country’ in the second leg of their CAF Champions League first round fixture.

A wasteful Enyimba failed to convert the numerous chances that came their way despite playing majority of Sunday’s match with a numerical advantage after Hilal’s Nazar Hamid Nassir was sent off 20 minutes into the encounter for elbowing full-back Daniel Darkwah.

Adam added that preparations for the first leg were hampered by the political tension back home and the invitation of a huge part of his squad to national team duties.

“It is a very exciting match. We know that Enyimba is a very big team in Africa,” he told journalist after the match in Aba. “We have our impression and we have our desire.”

“All of you know the circumstances in our country in Sudan for the last five months. For this reason, our preparation was not as usual; we hadn’t any camp outside Sudan. After we began playing, I lost 15 of my players to their national teams.

“So it was very difficult for us to play against Enyimba here in Aba. We tried to do our best tactically to stop the attackers of Enyimba, and we are going to finish the work in our country for sure,” he promised.

Al Hilal, 2-time runners-up in the competition, will welcome former champions Enyimba to their 65, 000 capacity stadium in Omdurman for the second leg in two weeks time, with winners over two legs advancing to the lucrative group stage.
