CAFCC: Rangers Charged To Go For Victory Against ASC Kara

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Vitus Okechi has charged players of Rangers International to go for a comprehensive win in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff match against visiting Togolese league champions, ASC Kara on Sunday in Enugu.

The Sports Commissioner gave this charge Wednesday, inside the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, after Rangers’ first training since returning from Lome, following their 2-1 first leg loss to Kara.

Okechi, who was in the stands of Stade de Kegue, Lome over the weekend, said the Rangers side he saw in Togo did enough to earn a draw in the match, but for some loss of concentration.

“This weekend’s match is a must win. Enugu State government is solidly behind your quest to emerge champions in all the competitions you will be challenging for,” he said.

“I know you have what it takes to become champions. You displayed some of it in Lome and I urge you to dig deep and come up with the winning formula. The team we lost to in Lome can’t stop us from progressing in the competition.”

The 7-time Nigerian champions, who reached the group stage of the competition last season, need a 1-0 win against Kara on Sunday to repeat that feat this term.
