Cyril Olisema scored the winner from the spot with three minutes left as Enyimba nicked an excellent win at Senegalese side ASC Diambars in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie on Saturday.
Olisema’s effort, the game’s only goal, meant new Enyimba boss Finidi George got his reign in charge of the two-time African champions off to a flying start.
The result at the Stade Fode Wade places record Nigerian champions Enyimba in pole position to complete the job and advance to the next round after next week’s return leg in Aba.
