CAFCC: Ogunbote Admits Tough Draw For Rangers, ‘Not Scared of Any Team’  (AUDIO)

Rangers coach Gbenga Ogunbote has admitted the ‘Flying Antelopes’ are in a tough group in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup but insists the Enugu-based side have an ‘equal chance’ of advancing to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Aiteo Cup champions were on Monday drawn against former winners Etoile du Sahel and CS Sfaxien both of Tunisia, as well as newcomers, Salitas of Burkina Faso, in the lucrative group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“Well, I think at this stage, every group is supposed to be seen as a difficult one,” the former Enyimba coach told busybuddiesng.com exclusively. “So, we have to work harder to make sure we qualify from the group.

“As far as I am concerned, wherever you find yourself, you make [the] best use of the situation.

“Every team in that group (Group A) has [an] equal chance of qualifying.”

Ogunbote also informed that Rangers are not intimidated by the pedigree of the Tunisian sides, Etoile and Sfaxien, who are both 4-time winners of the competition.

“We will do our best. We are not scared of any team. We will accord them (Etoile and Sfaxien) their respect. But we will do our best to make sure that we qualify,” he said.
