Nigeria’s representatives in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC), Enyimba FC and Akwa United, recorded contrasting away results in their respective first round first leg games on Wednesday evening.

Enyimba defeated Energie FC of Benin Republic 2-0 away from home courtesy an own goal and a 9th minute strike from Austine Oladapo to put themselves in a commanding position ahead of their second leg clash on March 18.

Akwa United were however not lucky as they fell to a 1-0 loss at Al-lttihad Tripoli of Libya and will have to overturn the deficit in their home leg at the Nest of Champions on March 18 to have a chance of securing a place in the playoff round.
