CAFCC Fallout: Enyimba Goalie Dauda Apologises After Williamsville Loss

Enyimba goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has apologised after the team suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Ivorian side Williamsville in a Matchday 4 clash in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC).

The result ensured that the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) giants drop from top spot to 3rd spot in Group C thus facing a big battle to qualify for the quarterfinals with only the top two guaranteed a spot in the next stage.

Dauda and his Enyimba teammates would be hoping they can bounce back from the loss when they travel to face AC Djoliba of Mali on Matchday 5 on the 19th of August.

The Ghanaian international goalkeeper tendered the apology via his Twitter handle. His tweet read: “Very unfortunate we lost our game yesterday, not the results we wanted but that’s football, most important we need to assess our performance individually and as a team so that we can do better. We ask for forgiveness from the Enyimba family we all know we disappoint.”
