CAFCC: CAF Postpones Enyimba vs Al Ittihad Fixture

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the Confederation Cup play-off first leg fixture between Al Ittihad of Libya and Nigeria’s Enyimba FC.

The fixture was initially scheduled for Sunday, 28 November at the Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet in Monastir, but Enyimba were denied entry into Tunisia due to their inability to satisfy local Covid-19 regulations for international travellers into the country.

CAF has, therefore, ordered the postponement of the fixture and says it will be played at a new venue and date to be announced in due course.

The return leg is, however, still on course to be played as scheduled on 5 December at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

“The match will not take place [today], the 28th of November 2021, as scheduled and will be postponed,” CAF announced in a statement on Saturday.

“The new venue and date of the match will be announced soon after consultation with CAF Inter-club Committee.

“Kindly note that the return leg will be played as scheduled on the 5th of December in Nigeria.”
