CAF Confederation Cup: Enyimba Draw Bye As Akwa United Face Banjul Hawks

2-time African champions Enyimba will move straight to the first round after they were drawn bye in the preliminary round during Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) in Cairo, Egypt.

Nigeria’s other representative, Akwa United, will face Banjul Hawks in the preliminary round.

First leg games will take place from February 9-11 with the second leg expected one week later.

In the other preliminary round ties, CARA Brazzaville (Congo) will take on Asante Kotoko of Ghana, APR take on Seychelles topflight side Anse Réunion, while Al-Masry take on Green Buffaloes.

Africa Sports have been drawn against FC Nouadhibou and RS Berkane take on Mbour Petite-Côte, while Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town City play Young Buffaloes.

Apart from Enyimba, other clubs drawn bye in the preliminary round include SuperSport United, USM Alger, Al-Hilal Al-Ubayyid, Motema Pembe, Al-Ahly Shendi, Nkana, Club Africain, Raja Casablanca and Zamalek.
