Nigerian representatives, Plateau United and MFM FC, have been given tough ties in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL).

The two teams found out about their opponents when the 2018 CAFCL preliminary and first round draw took place in Cairo on Wednesday afternoon.

Nigerian champions Plateau United were drawn against Eding Sport of Cameroon in the preliminary round with the winner scheduled to face African heavyweights, Etoile du Sahel, in the first round.

MFM were also handed a tough draw with Real Bamako of Mali in the preliminary round to determine the team that will face Otoho of Algeria.

First leg preliminary round clashes will take place between February 9-11, 2018 while the second leg games are scheduled for February 16-18, 2018.

First leg and second leg of first round clashes will hold between March 9-11, 2018 and March 16-18, 2018 respectively.

First round winners will qualify for CAFCL group stage while first round losers enter the CAF Confederation Cup.
