CAA U18 & U20 C’ships: Princess Kara Clocks Personal Best As Team Nigeria Swoop Five More Medals

Nigerian athletes won five more medals on Day 3  as they continued their impressive showing at the African U20 and U18 Championships taking place at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Princess Kara set a new Personal Best of 50.04m to stretch her unbeaten streak as she won gold in the women’s Discus Throw final. The 2018 National Sports Festival (NSF) champion increased her mark by a scarcely believable 9.26m from her previous record.

Still staying with the field events, Nnamdi Chinecherem won gold in the Boys’ Javelin throw with a mark of 74.71m, while Ruona Adogbeji took bronze in the Girls’ Long Jump with a leap of 5.56m.

On the tracks, Victoria Adunbi finished in third place to take bronze in the final of the women’s 100m Hurdles. while Erewa Law won Nigeria’s final medal of the day with bronze in the U18 boy’s Decathlon.

After three days of competition, Nigeria’s medal haul now stands at fifteen with seven gold medals and eight bronze medals.
