Team Kenya could still be a part of the 2018 CAA African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba, Delta State after Nigerian officials finally sorted out the East African nation’s accommodation problems.
The Kenyan contingent was left stranded on arrival at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) alongside other athletes and officials from other participating African countries.
This unsavoury development prompted the Kenyan contingent to pull out of the competition on Tuesday but the country’s representatives could still feature after their accommodation problems were addressed though some of the athletes from other participating countries were left unattended to.
Kenyan athletes and officials were booked in at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Lagos for Tuesday night only with the hope that they will get a flight to the host city on Wednesday.
The competition starts on Wednesday, August 1 through to Sunday, August 5.
