Schalke 04 have the bragging rights in the Ruhr Derby after they defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at home to strengthen second spot thereby sealing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Yevgeny Konoplyanka and Naldo scored the goals that earned the three points for the hosts.

The win ensured that Schalke 04 move back to within 20 points of champions Bayern Munich and 4 points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund in 3rd and 4th spot respectively.

In the other German Bundesliga game on Sunday, on-loan forward Ademola Lookman rescued a point for RB Leipzig in a 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen to lift his side above TSG Hoffenheim into 5th spot.
