Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella were in action as Bayer Leverkusen claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win at Union Berlin.
Boniface was named among the substitutes for the second consecutive game after making his return from injury in Wednesday’s DFB Pokal victory against Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The 23-year-old replaced Borja Inglesias
in the 67th minute.
The forward has scored 10 goals in 17 league appearances for Die Werkself this season.

Tella was named in the starting line-up and make a good impression in the game.
The winger was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong 11 minutes from time.
The 24-year-old has netted five times in 19 league outings this term.
Florian Writz scored the winning goal for Bayer Leverkusen from penalty spot four minutes after the break.
