Brighton Complete Bissouma Transfer From Lille

Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Mali international midfielder Yves Bissouma from former French Ligue 1 winners for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old joins the South Coast club after putting pen on a five-year contract to become Brighton’s sixth signing of a busy summer.

The club has already signed goalkeepers Jason Steele and David Button, defenders Leon Balogun and Bernardo, and striker Florian Andone.

Yves Bissouma joined Lille from AS Real Bamako of Mali in 2016 and went on to score 2 goals in 55 appearances for the club.

While speaking with club’s website about the new acquisition, manager Chris Hughton said: “We have been keen to strengthen the squad in the central midfield positions and Yves will add to our options.”

Brighton would be competing in just their second Premier League season when hostilities begin on August 10.

The club sealed a return to the top flight last season for the first time in 42 years (since 1985).
