An Italian fourth division player, Giovanni Liberti, has been handed a 5-match ban as his punishment for urinating at away fans

Turris Calcio’s Liberti was said to have urinated at the away sure during a stoppage in play during a 3-3 draw with Sarnese.

His club president was however adamant that Liberti was drinking from a water fountain rather than urinating at the away fans.

The club president Antonio Colantonio said:

“There’s a fountain near the wall and the player.

“He was drinking and adjusting his shirt, which should be in his shorts.”

“The visiting club confirmed to us that our player did not do anything that has been alleged.” he added.

Colantonio also confirmed that they plan to appeal against the 5-match ban given to the player.
